About this painting: Introspection- The examination or observation of one's own mental and emotional processes.

The long meditative process of creating a paintings provides plenty of time to mull over life & the world around.

'Introspection' was inspired by a moment in time as I went out for a morning walk with my dog. I'd been in a pretty rough way emotionally as external factors of events around the world, challenges in myself & stress caused by others opinions shattered my confidence.
As I walked I noticed the hazy early morning light coming through a fading Hydrangea bush, accentuating its Autumn colours & creating beautiful patterns. Somehow, this little moment of awe in nature made me look deeper into myself & how external factors affected me. 
That beam of sunlight through the fading Hydrangea shone a ray of understanding about who I really am. The truth is that each of us are actually a hundred different 'personalities' depending on who it is that is seeing us. To one person we might be an inspiring & thoughtful person, commanding respect & affection, while to another we are disliked & vilified..
The story around the creation of this light filled painting is all about finding our confidence in who we are & how to be happy within ourselves.
